Basment Beats - Final Draft

Basment Beats Front Cover - Draft 4

This fourth draft was designed so that the image was still clearly visible but so that several lines of text were centred and easy to read at the bottom of the page. I did not want to over-complicate the page and confuse the readers with an array of themes colours and texts so have decided to keep the colour scheme the same but vary the style of the font on each line.

Basement Beat Cover Page - Draft 3

On my third draft I focused upon getting the right feature artist to grace the cover. I wanted to take a photo of someone who was very current on the R'n'B scene; so decided to do by attending a concert where I could get close to the artist. This shot is full length and on stage, so different lighting effecrs created a great atmosphere in which the photo was taken. I decided to keep it to an absolute minimum as far as details were concerned which was influenced by the covers og "Q" magazine.

Double - Page Spread

Here is my final draft for my double page spread. I have decided upon using a photo that shows the artist relaxed at home which is where the interview is conducted. It shows a relaxed atmosphere and how he his willing to welcome his fans into his life through images of his home. The lighting is bright and have placed "JJ" slightly to the left of the shot to ensure you can see the guitar and amplifier as this is realted to what he states in the article.
